Fort Boise Produce, located in Parma, Idaho, is a leader in the packaging and marketing of high quality fresh onions.  Fort Boise Produce selects only the finest onions that are grown in the fertile Snake River Valley, which is well known for its delicious, mild flavored Sweet Spanish onions.  Fort Boise Onions are available in yellow, white and red varieties and in a variety of sizes.  The Spanish Sweet variety is noted for its flavor and quality.  Fort Boise Onions are typically available from August through April.

Fort Boise was established in 1982 and has experienced significant growth over the last 24 years.  Our state of the art onion storage and packing facilities enable us to provide high quality produce to our customers.  Inspectors are on site at all times during our packaging runs to certify size, grade and quality.  As a member of the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee, providing quality produce is always considered a priority.  Fort Boise is also a member of the National Onion Association.

Onions have been a growth industry for the area’s economy over the last decade, and Fort Boise has capitalized by partnering with several local growers. Associating ourselves with some of the best area farmers is a critical part of our success.

Fort Boise Produce opened a new, state of the art, packing facility in August of 2004.  This new facility is equipped with an automated, computerized sorting line that enables Fort Boise to efficiently sort by size and color.  All of the handling equipment has been designed to treat the onion as gently as possible.  Our finished goods inventory area is equipped with an innovative air ventilation system that keeps dry air moving over the onions, maintaining superior onion quality while awaiting shipment.  All of this is done to assure that a superior quality onion is delivered to our customer. 

Food quality and safety are important to Fort Boise.  We pride ourselves on optimizing our Quality Assurance program to ensure our customers satisfaction.  As a means of documenting and verifying our commitment to quality, Fort Boise's storage and packing facilities are certified by Primuslabs, Inc.  This allows us to assure compliance with the food safety requirements of the food and produce industries. 

Fort Boise Produce is a trading member of both the
BLUE BOOK and RED BOOK Credit services.  We maintain a 4X rating with the Blue Book and a 4 Star rating in the red book.
